Four things to agree to before your account is created. Plain English, no surprises — tick each one.
Your cases are encrypted with your password. If you forget it, this code is the only way back in — nobody, including us, can recover your data without it.
This sets your ACGME case minimums on the Progress tab. You can change it later in Settings.
Just say what you did — approach, attending, your role, the procedure, the MRN, any pearls. Tap Dictate and talk; text appears as you finish each phrase. Your audio is transcribed by our own service on AWS under a signed HIPAA agreement, so it's fine to say the MRN out loud — no need for your keyboard's dictation any more. The MRN is stripped before the text goes to the AI, and your cases are encrypted on this device before they sync.
Bring in your existing ACGME cases so OpTally learns your attendings, sites, and rotations and catches up your count — with no duplicates.
Already keeping your cases in Notes, a doc, or a spreadsheet? Paste them here — one case per line, or blocks separated by a blank line. Each becomes a draft you review before saving.
Patient identifiers are removed. MRNs, patient names, initials and dates of birth are stripped on this device before anything is parsed, and are never saved on the case. Please don't paste patient names — OpTally never needs them.

This is the only way back into your account if you forget your password. Save it in your password manager now — we can't show it again, and because your data is encrypted we can't recover it for you.

One technique survives and keeps everything; the others are deleted. Where both had the same section filled in, both versions are kept, labelled — nothing you wrote is thrown away.
